PG Applications

Applications for Postgraduate courses must be made online via Postgraduate Applications Centre (PAC). Applications for taught programmes beginning in September 2024 are being accepted from mid-October 2023 online via PAC. The PAC system is open for applications for research programmes on a continuous basis.

The online form is easy to use and you will be guided through the system step-by-step. You will require an active e-mail account to use the system. Please refer to the frequently asked questions section which can help you with any queries. Applicants may apply for up to three taught programmes OR three research programmes. There is a non-refundable application processing fee of €50. This should be paid to PAC. Closing dates for each course are indicated on the PAC system.

Agent Applications

Maynooth University works with numerous trusted education agents in several countries. Our agents can not only provide comprehensive information about our programmes and campus but can assist you with the application process and visa procedures, providing a service well above what we can offer alone. The International Office may also request the assistance of trusted agents in your country to help them assess your application.

When do I pay my Fees?

  • Once you have received your acceptance from the International Office, further written instructions will be sent to you.
  • All International Fees must be paid in full prior to the completion of registration.

Application Requirements

Academic and English-Language Requirements for non-EU citizens

International applicants must have a recognised primary (undergraduate) degree which is considered equivalent to an Irish University primary degree. Some programmes may have additional requirements.

The minimum English-language requirements for postgraduate study are:

  • IELTS 6.5 score
  • TOEFL (IBT) 92 score or equivalent.

Scholarships

Please remember that in order to be considered for any of our International Office scholarships, you need to have an offer of a place, which you must have accepted, and paid your deposit.

September 2023 Undergraduate Scholarships – €2,000 per year

One scholarship is available per faculty. The scholarship comprises a 2,000 Euro per year reduction in the undergraduate non-EU tuition fee. (Payment of fees after year one is contingent on successful progression to the next year of the programme. The scholarship does not cover tuition fees for repeat years). To apply: A separate application is not required. You must have been offered and accepted a place on one of our undergraduate programmes and paid your deposit by 31 March 2023. Open to full and conditional offer holders.

September 2023 Taught Postgraduate Scholarships – €2,500 per year

We are offering a suite of 9 scholarships (3 per faculty) at 2,500 Euro reduction for the first year of a taught postgraduate programme only. The scholarship does not cover tuition fees for repeat years. To apply: A separate application is not required. You must have been offered and accepted a place on one of our taught postgraduate programmes and paid your deposit by 31 March 2023. Open to full and conditional offer holders.

There are three types of US-based funding available to students who are citizens or permanent residents of the United States, who wish to study at National University of Ireland Maynooth. These are the US Federal Aid loans (William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program), private loans with Sallie Mae, and Veterans Affairs Benefits.
